Alison is a very welcoming and friendly Pilates teacher. Her classes are relaxed and calm and her attention to detail is exceptional. She really explains each exercise and puts a lot of effort into helping you get it right. I was really anxious about starting exercise again, having injuries in my leg, but Alison put me at ease and adapted exercises to suit my needs. I never thought Pilates would be a sport for me but the more I go to these classes the more I love it!

Several of my friends have been attending Pilates classes and suggested that I give it a try, I was nervous about attending my first session as it was something so new for me. From the moment Alison opened the door to me on my first day she made me feel welcome straight away. With her encouragement, she gave me the confidence that I could complete each exercise and nothing was too much trouble. I have limitations following recent surgery but I do not feel pushed to do more than I feel comfortable with at any time. I now look forward to the class each week the time goes so quickly and yet I feel that I accomplish so much in the hour.
I get so much from my weekly class with Alison. Physically I am feeling so good as a result, but also the laughs we have in class between us all are so great. I look forward to class and feel so good afterwards.
Very knowledgeable teacher in a select small group, it feels like a 1 to 1 class. The Trigger Point Pilates works wonders to realign your pelvis, spine and shoulders, not to be missed
Alison is a really lovely instructor. She tailors the class to individual needs. For example I had done a 5k run and was feeling rather stiff and she popped in a few exercises to help improve my mobility on the fly. I would highly recommend her. Any mums with distatis recti should consider joining her classes, equally anyone who needs help with their back. Basically if mobility is an issue due to long hours in front of the computer or due to injury I would at least sign up for a taster class to see whether this is the class for you.
"Alison is brilliant and we want to go again and do more pilates next time there is a school holiday, pleeease".....these were the words that greeted me when I collected my kids from a wellbeing and mindfulness pilates day for children at Alison hosted during the recent school holidays.The statement "out of the mouths of babes" jumped into my mind and curious to find out more myself, I emailed and asked if I could join Allison's Tuesday evening pilates class.My kids were not wrong, Alison is brilliant.Her instruction style is warm, welcome and fun. She supports everyone in the class from beginners to seasoned attendees.Having enjoyed my Tuesday evening classes so much, there was an opportunity to join one of Alison retreat days in April and what a truely amazing experience that day was.Incredible to find a space filled with such positive healing energy. Everyone on the day will agree (I'm sure) that it has already started to change our lives, by giving us all space and time to focus on what we would like to achieve for ourselves. I'm fairly new to Pilates as I have found previous attempts frustrating as I wasn't sure I was doing the moves and the breathing correctly. Alison's classes are small enough that she can move around the room and ensure everybody is OK. She's a lovely lady, very knowledgeable about her craft and makes sure you are enjoying yourself. I really hope Alison restarts her in-studio classes again soon as I would love to come along on a regular basis. Nothing is too much trouble for Alison, when you're in her studio you just feel a lovely sense of calm and wellbeing. Thank you Alison!
Alison the instructor is lovely and very caring. She runs mat based morning and evening pilates classes in small groups in her personal studio which is very clean and well maintained. Pilates is not a quick fix. My friends and I have been going to Athena Pilates for over 8 months and have seen major difference.
